Livejournal

What can I say about it? It’s better than MySpace or Facebook by a mile (I haven’t an account at MySpace, but finally caved and got a Facebook account that I use mostly to play Bejewled Blitz) and lets you babble on a lot more than Twitter (I do have one of those, as well). It’s the most community oriented of the blogs, with friends pages and, well, communities. The thing about most blogs (Blogspot, Wordpress, Tumblr) is that you don’t have the same network. It’s just your page. Sure, you can set up RSS feeds, but it’s not nearly as nice. And the lack of community blogs is… well, it makes it a whole other beast. Other blogs seem more about ‘here is my soapbox’ and LJ (and its clones – I have an IJ account and have thought about springing for a JournalFen account) seems more about… don’t throw rotten fruit at me… sharing ideas and just chatting with people. Sounds a bit maudlin, I suppose, but there you have it. And that’s why I like it so much. And spend far too much time on it!

My main page is here, if you’re curious. Otherwise, take a gander at what I spend most of my time doing on Livejournal:
