I adore cooking, though I hate cleaning the kitchen afterwards! The kitchen was one of the big selling points of the house, honestly. It's not perfect, but it's one of the better ones I we saw.
About recipes: for a lot of what I make I don't use a recipe. Most things I just ad-lib - who needs a recipe for a salad? Or a hamburger? I cook a lot of chicken and pork (with whatever I feel like tossed in the dish - lots of times it's Italilan dressing, a wonderful and cheap marinade) and steak, with your typical side-dishes (rice, noodles, veggies) - none of which really requires a recipe.
And yet, I find myself inexplicably drawn to recipes. I have books of them, I save them from the internet, I clip them from magazines...
Lately I've been trying to get them organized. I want to get everything on laminated 3"x5" cards. It's a tall order, but hopefully, someday it'll be done. In the meantime, I bring you what I have. All of these recipes are ones I've made before - I have plenty of others, but I'm not going to post untried recipes. When possible I've credited the place they came from - if there is no credit, it was probably either a) a family recipe or b) found on some website that I forgot to write down at the time.
Below are links to the pages I've thought up so far. I'm sure there will be more, in due time. But formatting all the recipe cards is slow business! To let you know how I've catagorized things, here's a summary of the recipes you should expect to find in each catagory.
Puppy: Obviously, dog treats, though most are edible for humans. Bland, but edible.
Appetizers & Soups: soups (obviously!) and snack-like foods, many of which can be meals, but are not generally considered so.
Main Dishes: the good stuff. I may eventually (hoping I get all my recipes typed up!) have to sub-catagorize this, but for now it's everything, animal, vegetable, and mineral.
Just Desserts: nothing but the sweet stuff. My largest collection of recipes falls into this catagory. Go figure!
Drinks: a place to store my favorite 'coffee-flavored beverage' (aka: coffee) recipes, as well as smoothies and the best Orange Julius ever!
